Proven History

Enameled Steel & Sign Company was established in 1901 as a sign maker. In the firms quest to create more appealing signage, Enameled Steel & Sign gained experience as a coater of metals. During World War II Enameled Steel & sign became a government supplier to help the war effort. Consequently we stopped making signs and concentrated our efforts on high production painting of small parts. We quickly realized the advantages that could be gained while using highly efficient and automated equipment. Management and line operators were constantly in search of more efficient methods for organic finishing. Enameled Steel was a pioneer in the electrostatic coating process. Teaming with the Ransburg Corporation, Enameled Steel also dveloped the use of reciprocating spinning discs for paint applications. Today electrostatic applications and reciprocating spinning discs are major parts of most finishing systems.
